The Old Boys suffered their first loss of the season and the Makos were slammed 5-0 by Figtree
as the Maroons strengthened their position in the top four.
The Sh*t Hogs were big movers with two wins over the weekend, including one of their makeup games.
The form of Russell Vale in knocking off the Old Boys and Figtree, beaten 4-0 by Fernhill just a few weeks ago, will be of concern to the Maroons, who are yet to play either team this season.
Meanwhile, at the risk of jinxing the team, the semis and finals series go across three weeks, not two. The top two play in the major semi with third and fourth in the minor semi. The winner of the major semi goes straight through to the Grand Final two weeks later. The loser players the winner of the minor semi for a second chance to make the GF.
I can also confirm that 2-way ties on the table will be decided in the first instance by head to head record and then goal difference. Also the top two on the regular season ladder will be promoted, not the teams in the grand final.
Latest table. The asterisks are catchup games due. Shell City and Uni's makeup game is due to be played midweek on July 1, according to the official website.
