Training and trials

Training kicks off on Wednesday night and, for the next few weeks at least, we will be concentrating on full field game play. Later, as we get into the season and have our fitness up from playing on the weekend, we'll do more skills based and tactical small sided games training. The lessons from last week's three-quarter field run included -"bloody hell, there's so much running to do!" and "I haven't had to kick a ball that far in 20 years!". So be prepared for some warmups and then into game situations as we try to raise fitness and increase confidence in the space.
Also, the field is in good condition despite the rain. If it does rain heavily Wednesday we might cancel. Please check back at the breaking news section about 4.45pm where we'll let you know if it's off.
Trials: Going by the poll we have 20 out of 25 respondents avialable for the March 7 trials. I've told the other teams we will be there and am awaiting confirmation, which, of course, will be posted here when it comes.
Welcome: Glen Cahill, Glenn Paull and Grant Bywater signed up this week to take the tally up to 40 again.
Finally, some housekeeping: Keys have been found on the field. If you left them there last week or Sunday, I've got 'em.
