Important news for 2011 and beyond

With the 2011 season fast approaching a meeting was held between Tony, Les, AB and Ant on Saturday to go through a few strategies for moving the Club forward.

You may or may not be aware, but Coledale Seniors was established with the view to create a club, not just the 1 team as it had when first started. The idea was (and still is) to create a club where people could play in competitive or social environments no matter what their age: juniors, masters and all in between.

The IAFA have removed Masters Division 2 and put Coledale teams into Masters and Division 4. IAFA have stated that they believe the Over 35s league is stronger than the Division 4 league.

As such, we met and agreed on a few aspects:
The 2012 season will see the club grade the players into teams based on skill and each team will be nominated to play in the appropriate leagues, as determined by our objectives.
The 2011 season, however, is one of transition. We have the opportunity to begin the grading process now or remain as the club currently is for one final season with Maroons and Whites. In order for the committee to make a decision we would like your input to help us shape the way the club operates for this year.
We would like you to email Tony at tonyharper@bigpond.com with your answers to the following questions:

Please select a or b when replying to the below statement
a) I would prefer to stay as we were last season for this season (ie: whites and maroons)
or
b) I would like to see grading commence this season

Question 2

Please select a, b or c in terms of self rating yourself:
a) If we commenced grading this season, and based on the players who played last season, I believe I would be in the first team
b) If we commenced grading this season, and based on the players who played last season, I believe I would be in the second team
c) If we commenced grading this season I don’t mind where I play as all I want to do is play football

If we do not receive your reply email by 31st January 2011 we will assume that you will be happy to go with the outcome based on others votes.
We have agreed that the Club will commence grading this season if we get more than 60% of respondents select ‘b’ for Question 1. Details on this will be determined should the vote go that way. While responses will be kept confidential, it is important that you stand behind your vote with your name – therefore we will not do this anonymously through the blog. Only email or signed written votes will count.

Also if you are not coming back to play this year we need to know now as we have a list of people who are interested in joining. Please also advise us this by 31st January 2011.
