WOMBARRA, March 26 (THNS) - Coledale Waves seniors today announced they had signed two players on the IAFA's preseason deadline day, allowing them to feature in the opening round this weekend.
Central defender Les C completed his move from Dunbar Rovers to the Whites and midfield powerhouse Paul E put pen to paper in a dramatic last minute signing from the Thirroul Sunday team.
Paul completed his paper work in the car on the way to the IAFA offices on Wednesday, just hours before the transfer dealine closed for week one.
Although intending to sit out the first match, Paul , who met his new teammates on Wednesday night, has been called up following injuries to Shanus (knee) and Tom (hamstring). TH10 remains on the injured list with a calf muscle but hopes to return soon.
The Whites suffered two injuries against Gibson Park Rangers and Les will debut against Helensburgh.
"We welcome both players to the club and hope they have long and fruitful careers," said club president TH10. "The intitial feeling was that we would go with 20 players each squad but already injuries and absences have hit us. With 22 games, regardless of washouts, plus finals, we expect there will be plenty of football to go around."
